Houdini wine opener and other accessories
Welcome to our website. Here you'll find out about different types wine openers. Having a reliable and high
quality wine opener is essential for any wine lover. People for years have struggled with stubborn corks, broken
corks, and little bits of cork floating in wine. We're here to make your decision on which product to choose
easier.
You already know most basic traditional corkscrew available on the market. Generally, it consists of a pointed
metallic helix (often called the "worm") attached to a handle. The user grips the handle and screws the metal point
through the cork, entwining the cork and corkscrew so that moving one moves the other. However with such primitive
method of opening wine bottles comes the price. You risk to spill wine all over your shirt when you pull the cork
out. Seniors and disabled may have problems with this method too, because you actually need to use some strength to
open the bottle. Enter the Houdini wine opener!
No more squeezing the bottle on the floor between your feet and tugging on a corkscrew. With the Houdini, the
corks just pop right out. The corks aren't broken or flaking off into the wine. Instead of having to pull the cork
from the bottle, you use lever action to do all of the work for you. You just need a little bit of practice. You
lower the lever to raise the corkscrew, close the rabbit ear like handles on the neck of the wine bottle, and then
raise and lower the handle. Another flip and the cork falls off the screw.
The Houdini wine opener comes in several different colors, including silver, black, red, blue... Black and
silver are the classic colors which will blend in every kitchen. Bright colors may seem a little bit "flashy" at
first, but you'll never loose your corkscrew in the kitchen. So it's up to you which color to pick.
Houdini expected to last for few thousand of bottles, however it depends on quality of your corkscrew. Some of
the cheap versions are plastic and break easy, but others are made from metal so it will last. If you want your
corkscrew to last, go for high quality models. You might spend 10$ more, but you will get a nice product for
the money. One of the best if not the best available on Amazon would be
Pinzon Matte Chrome-Plated Corkscrew and Foil Cutter Set .
The only problem with this type of wine opener is the storage. Because the "ears" take up a lot of drawer space,
you might have difficulty fitting it there. However, you could improvise and compress "ears" with a rubber
band.
Prices of these devices usually varies from 15 to 50 $. This should be a great gift for any petite wine
drinker.
